Christopher will be sharing his story of gratitude for Bach’s music and the part it has played in his life.  During the day, there will be opportunities for moments of quiet, drawing upon Christopher’s reflections and his playing for us, to notice and to meditate upon how Bach’s music touches us.

The program will feature works including: Two-Part Inventions, Toccatas, Preludes and Fugues, Partitas, selections from The Musical Offering and Goldberg Variations.

Grounded in the Anglican tradition, the St Oswald Centre for Spirituality offers spiritual direction, refreshment days, and retreats as ways of creating safe places to explore our divine yearning. Our ministry is for both individuals and groups across the many Christian and faith traditions. We welcome people from all backgrounds in the spirit of God’s unconditional love and inclusion.

You are welcome to join in all the Program for 2026 has to offer:

• Weekly opportunities on Thursdays at 9.30am for a 30-minute meditation leading into 10 am Eucharist followed by a cuppa (or brunch if you wish) at a local café
• Bi-monthly Retreat days:
  • Alternating between Thursdays 9.30 am – 3.00pm (half days to 1.00pm) and Saturdays 10.00 am – 3.30 pm
  • Cost by donation, $20-$40 (unless otherwise stated)
  • Morning tea arranged, BYO lunch or head to the local cafe.

Recently I had the privilege of being part of a lovely service called BreakFEAST with the Saints where twelve queer saints were celebrated. Each queer saint was spoken about detailing how they stood proud, struggled and persevered.

They represented many denominations. Some had died and some are very much still alive and active. It is true to say that all had suffered and do suffer from the abuse of the church and the trauma of making a stand.

As a parishioner at St Oswald’s and a gay woman, I was thrilled that our very own Priest Ali Wurm was acknowledged publicly for her unceasing steadfastness working with the Institutional Church. Her stamina in the face of discrimination was acknowledged and recognised. Congratulations Ali and thank you for being here leading us forward.
